9 Recent Strategic Investments by Hospitals

Here are nine strategic investments by hospitals made in the past month, beginning with the most recent.

1. Camden, N.J.-based Lourdes Health System entered into a joint venture partnership with Centennial Surgery Center in Voorhees, N.J., and entered into a partnership with DaVita to operate its outpatient dialysis services — two moves that support Lourdes' strategy of expanding its services.

2. Nashville (Tenn.) General Hospital may scale back inpatient services and refocus on outpatient care to improve its finances.

3. A proposed partnership between Clearwater, Fla.-based BayCare Health System and Sarasota (Fla.) Memorial Hospital is one of the latest examples of hospitals' strategy to consolidate healthcare services to better manage patients' health through the continuum of care.
