Henry Ford West Bloomfield (Mich.) Hospital will unveil its new $1 million hydroponic greenhouse Saturday, according to a Detroit Free Press report.
The 1,500-square-foot greenhouse will supply food for the hospital's kitchen, including lettuce, tomatoes, herbs and other vegetables.
The greenhouse also supports the hospital's mission of promoting wellness in the community by encouraging healthier food choices, according to the report. The greenhouse includes an educational center with exhibits and programs for kids.
