The Senate committee on health, education, labor and pensions has approved legislation that would reauthorize current-level funding for the Children's Hospitals Graduate Medical Education program for five years, according to an AHA News Now report.
The Children's Hospital Graduate Medical Education Support Reauthorization Act (S. 958) would reauthorize up to $330 million in funding for pediatric residency training programs. Without the reauthorization, the funding would be cut as part of President Obama's 2012 budget.
