Legislation introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives would reauthorize the Children's Hospitals Graduate Medical Education program for five years, according to an AHA News Now report.
The bill (H.R. 1852) would provide $330 million each of the five years to help train pediatric physicians. It is being sponsored by Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health Chairman Joe Pitts (R-Pa.) and Ranking Member Frank Pallone (D-N.J.).
The American Hospital Association has expressed support for the bill.
