Children's GME Reauthorization Bill Moves to House

A bill reauthorizing $330 million in annual funding for five years for the Children's Hospitals Graduate Medical Education program will move to the U.S. House for consideration after gaining approval from the House Energy and Commerce Committee, according to an AHA News Now report.

The Children's Hospital GME Support Reauthorization Act (H.R. 1852) would reauthorize funding, which is set to be cut as part of President Obama's 2012 budget.

The bill is backed by the American Hospital Association.
