Beatrice (Neb.) Community Hospital and Health Center has completed its new $50 million hospital after a little more than two years of construction, according to a Lincoln Journal Star report.
The hospital built the new facility to accommodate increasing patient volumes and meet the needs of the community, who voiced a desire for private rooms, additional services and newer equipment.
The new 144,000-square-foot hospital is larger than its 86,000-square-foot predecessor but has the same number of inpatient beds (25) to allow it to remain a critical access hospital. Patients will be transferred from the old hospital to the new facility Feb. 15. Hospital officials have not determined the future of the old hospital.
