Cheyenne (Wyo.) Regional Medical Center has laid off eight members of its administrative staff, according to a Wyoming Tribune Eagle report.
CRMC CEO John Lucas, MD, said the hospital board decided last week that the hospital will need to cut its costs by about 15 percent, or roughly $35 million over the next three years, to survive declining reimbursements, according to the report.
Affected positions were in marketing, facilities and general administration, according to the report. The hospital has also decided to not fill 10 vacant positions in areas that include finance, fundraising, volunteer services and central supply. Several other positions will be reclassified, as well, according to the report.
Dr. Lucas said no clinical positions were affected by the staffing changes, according to the report.
