Glendale (Calif.) Memorial Hospital and Health Center is laying off an undetermined number of employees, according a Glendale News-Press report.
A hospital spokesperson said the layoffs are in their "preliminary stages," according to the report. Details on which positions will be affected and when the reduction will go into effect were not specified, but both union and non-union employees are subject to layoffs.
The 334-bed Glendale Memorial is part of San Francisco-based Dignity Health. The hospital attributed the layoffs to an increase in uninsured patients and decreased reimbursement, according to the report.
