Patient Information Stolen From University of Miami School of Medicine

Personal information of 1,219 patients stored on a USB drive was stolen from the University of Miami (Fla.) Miller School of Medicine in November, according to a Sun Sentinel report.

The USB drive was in a briefcase which was stolen from a UM pathologist's vehicle on Nov. 24, 2011. The USB drive contained the medical record number, age, sex and treatment information of UM patients.
