Minnesota Attorney General Lori Swanson filed a lawsuit against Accretive Health, accused of failing to protect confidential information of 23,500 hospital patients, according to a Fox News report.
Last July, Accretive Health lost a laptop computer containing unencrypted health data on patients from Fairview Health Services, based in Minneapolis, and North Memorial Care Hospital in Robbinsdale, Minn. The lawsuit alleges Accretive violated numerous state and federal health privacy laws.
