Indianapolis-based IU Health has partnered with the Indiana Statewide Rural Health Network to develop a telemedicine service for stroke patients, according to an IU Health news release.
IU Health Stroke Telemedicine will connect stroke specialists in the Indianapolis area with seven rural community hospitals, allowing IU Health-affiliated neurologists to interact in real-time with patients and physicians in distant locations.
The telemedicine program is part of a statewide initiative to help critical access hospitals implement the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association's Get with the Guidelines stroke program.
