Staff, nursing and leadership wage growth percentages at hospitals and other healthcare organizations have remained steady between 2010 and 2011, according to an Integrated Healthcare Strategies survey.
Survey results showed that rehabilitation jobs had an average base wage growth rate of 2 percent year-over-year from 2010 to 2011, and a total of 75 percent of all staff respondents said their actual salary increase remained unchanged or increased from 2010.
Nursing positions saw an average wage growth rate of 1.8 percent, and 87 percent of respondents said nursing positions were provided with merit increases over the past year.
Salary levels for leadership positions increased 3 percent on average at healthcare systems and 2.8 percent at independent and subsidiary hospitals, according to the survey. C-suite executives received a short-term incentive award between 25 percent and 35 percent of their salaries at healthcare systems and between 18 percent and 27 percent of salaries at independent and subsidiary hospitals.
