Teladoc rolls out behavioral health navigation tool in US

Teladoc launched a remote integrated behavioral healthcare service in the U.S., the telehealth provider announced April 25.

The service, dubbed the Behavioral Health Navigator, provides patients with access to mental health providers, primary care physicians and a navigation team to improve care coordination. Patients may access these collaborative care services for mental health assessments, treatment decisions and second opinions.

Teladoc's Behavioral Health Navigator service launched in Canada in 2017. Since its rollout, patients in Canada have reported a 32 percent decrease in depression symptoms, 31 percent decrease in anxiety symptoms and 20 percent decrease in stress symptoms.

"As employers and health plans look to support members struggling with physical and/or behavioral health issues, deploying a solution that meets the full spectrum of needs is critical to improving outcomes," Dan Trencher, senior vice president of product and corporate strategy at Teladoc, said in an April 25 statement.
