A new study from virtual health company KeyCare revealed that 68 percent of patients traveling who needed minor but urgent medical care consulted their regular clinicians via telehealth.
For those respondents, the top factor in their decision to receive virtual care was speed and convenience, according to a Feb. 28 KeyCare news release shared with Becker's.
The results of the survey came from 400 telehealth patients.
"The results of this survey confirm that there is substantial consumer demand for telehealth services while traveling, but just as importantly, reveal a strong patient preference for virtual visits with telehealth providers who are closely connected to their main health system," KeyCare CEO Lyle Berkowitz, MD, said in the release.
