Watertown Regional Medical Center in Wisconsin Plans ED Expansion

UW Health Partners Watertown (Wis.) Regional Medical Center is planning a new emergency department and women's health unit, according to a Business Journal report.

A new ED will accommodate WRMC's increasing ED volume. Last year, the hospital saw more than 19,000 ED and urgent care patients, although the current ED was designed to serve only 10,000 to 12,000 patients annually.

The project also includes renovations to the hospital's kitchen and Wellness Works areas.

WRMC plans to break ground in early summer and expects to complete the project in early 2014.
