Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center Changes Name

Greenville (S.C.) Hospital System University Medical Center officially changed its name to Greenville Health System this week and adopted a new logo to match.

The system took two years to decide on the name change, reasoning that it has become "more than just a hospital," according to GHS board chairman Billy Webster. "We are an academic medical center, a highly integrated delivery system and a critical health resource for our community in illness and in health," he said in the release.

GHS includes five medical campuses and 167 affiliated physician practice sites. It will take up to three years to change all of the associated signage.
