10 Hospitals, Health Systems That Recently Changed Names, Brands

Here is a list of hospitals and health systems that changed names or brands or announced plans to do so in the past month, beginning with the most recent announcement.

1. PeaceHealth Changes Oregon Hospitals' Names
Vancouver, Wash.-based PeaceHealth changed the names of its four hospitals in Oregon.

2. Huguley Memorial Medical Center in Texas to Change Name, Logo
Huguley Memorial Medical Center in Burleson, Texas, plans to reveal a new name and logo Thursday to show its affiliation with Arlington-based Texas Health Resources.

3. Iowa Health to Become UnityPoint Health
Des Moines-based Iowa Health System changed its name to UnityPoint Health.

4. Edward Health Services to Change Name After Merger With Elmhurst

Naperville, Ill.-based Edward Health Services Corp. will be known as Edward-Elmhurst Healthcare following its merger with Elmhurst (Ill.) Memorial Healthcare.

5. St. John's Lutheran Hospital Launches Contest to Name New Hospital

St. John's Lutheran Hospital in Libby, Mont., announced a "Name Your New Healthcare Facility" contest to name its new hospital.

6. "Cheat Death:" CaroMont's New Slogan Launches Community Health Campaign
Gastonia, N.C.-based CaroMont Health announced the new name of Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia and CaroMont's new slogan, "Cheat Death." Later, CaroMont dropped the slogan in response to public opposition.

7. HMA Officially Takes Reins at Bayfront Health System

Bayfront Health System in St. Petersburg, Fla., unveiled a new logo after finalizing a joint venture partnership with Naples, Fla.-based Health Management Associates.

8. High Point Regional Merges With UNC Health Care

High Point (N.C.) Regional Health System is changing its logo and brand to reflect its new ownership by Chapel Hill, N.C.-based UNC Health Care.

9. 2 Mayo Clinic Hospitals to Combine Under One Name

In an effort to better integrate the system, Mayo Clinic announced its two main Rochester, Minn.-based hospitals, Saint Marys Hospital and Methodist Hospital, will become a single licensed hospital and operate under the name Mayo Clinic Hospital-Rochester.

10. South Jersey Healthcare, Underwood-Memorial Finalize New System's Name
The health system formed by the merger of South Jersey Healthcare in Vineland, N.J., and Underwood-Memorial Hospital in Woodbury, N.J., will be known as Inspira Health Network.
