Raleigh, N.C.-based WakeMed Health & Hospitals announced the ground breaking of a new $17 million emergency department in Garner, N.C.
The WakeMed Garner Healthplex will include a 12-bed ED and will offer lab and imaging services. The facility will also house physician offices, including Wake Specialty Physicians-Garner Primary Care and Wake Specialty Physicians-Carolina Cardiology. In addition, WakeMed Garner Healthplex will serve as the base for WakeMed's Air Mobile medical helicopter operations.
The facility is expected to open to patients in the fall of 2013.
