Danville (Va.) Regional Medical Center is planning a nearly $6 million freestanding emergency department, according to a WSLS report.
The 17,000-square-foot facility will be located in the space currently housing Danville Orthopedic & Physical Therapy Clinic. The ED will include 20 beds, on-site imaging and clinical laboratory services.
At the new ED, DRMC's medical director will lead a team of physicians provided by hospital‐based physician management group Phoenix Physicians, and other staff members, according to the report.
Construction is expected to begin in mid‐2013 and take approximately nine months to complete.
