Two healthcare organizations are opening facilities in Carbondale, Pa., to provide some services the community would otherwise lose with the imminent closing of Marian Community Hospital, which is also in Carbondale, according to a Times-Tribune report.
Pioneer City Urgent Care will open and provide care for routine and emergency cases, though not for patients brought in by ambulance. Commonwealth Health, part of Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems, will open an outpatient center to provide laboratory testing, X-ray services and EKGs.
