North Stonington Health Center in Connecticut Faces Possible Closure

Westerly (R.I.) Hospital, which is under receivership, has filed a plan with the Connecticut Department of Public Health to close the hospital's North Stonington (Conn.) Health Center, according to a Westerly Sun report.

Westerly Hospital decided to stop subsidizing the health center earlier this week but is seeking another organization to run the facility, which opened in December 2010. If the hospital cannot identify a new partner for North Stonington, the center could close as soon as April 17, according to the report.

The health center includes primary care, urgent care and physical therapy.
