Dallas-based Baylor Health Care System will close its 71-bed Baylor Southwest Fort Worth facility no later than May 4, according to a Star-Telegram report.
The hospital is closing due to the system's consolidation of operations at another downtown facility, the 525-bed Baylor All Saints Medical Center at Fort Worth. The occupancy rate of Baylor Southwest was 40 percent, according to the report.
A Baylor spokesperson said system officials will work to transition the hospital's 170 employees into new positions, with as many as possible still in the Baylor network.
