The chief financial officers overseeing these institutions play a pivotal role in guiding financial strategies, handling substantial budgets, and fostering strategic partnerships to ensure financial stability and growth.

Chris Allen. CFO for Keck Medicine of USC (Los Angeles). Mr. Allen serves as the CFO for Keck Medicine of USC, where he oversees the health system's financial strategy, budgeting, revenue cycle and long-term planning. In his role, Mr. Allen leads initiatives aimed at ensuring financial growth and stability, empowering the organization to provide high-quality patient care. He has been instrumental in improving financial operations, including a revenue cycle turnaround to reduce payer denials and enhance collections. He collaborates closely with leadership across Keck Medicine and works with the Keck School of Medicine's CFO and the USC Care group CFO to manage funds flow. Mr. Allen previously served as CFO for Keck Medical Center of USC, which comprises both the flagship Keck Hospital of USC and USC Norris Cancer Hospital. 

Adam Anolik.  Senior Vice President and CFO for University of Rochester (N.Y.) Medical Center. Mr. Anolik has served as CFO for University of Rochester Medical Center since October 2017. Before that, he had served as interim CFO since June 2017 and was a finance leader at the medical center for nearly two decades prior. He first joined the academic medical center in 1999 and has taken on roles of progressive responsibility throughout his tenure. 

Laurence Appel. CFO of University of Illinois Hospitals & Clinics (Chicago). Mr. Appel became CFO of University of Illinois Hospital and Clinics in 2018, overseeing the system's financial department. He works with the system's leadership to update long-range forecasting and planning. Mr. Appel also has experience as the senior director of strategic finance and budget for the system and as executive director and controller of the Arlington Heights, Ill.-based Northwest Community Hospital.

​​Ramey A. Benfield, PhD. CFO and Vice Chancellor for Research Administration for LSU Health Shreveport (La.). Dr. Benfield came to LSU Health Shreveport in June 2024. Prior, he was associate vice president of business affairs and operations and the assistant vice president for administrative services at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School of Medicine. He has deep experience in enhancing financial processes and outcomes using business intelligence, overseeing large teams, and overseeing systemwide financial reporting.

Gary Bie. Vice President of Health System Finance and Strategy and CFO of Stony Brook Medicine (Long Island, N.Y.). Mr. Bie joined the four-hospital Stony Brook Medicine in 2011 as CFO after serving as the executive vice president for finance at Nassau Health Care Corp., in East Meadow, N.Y. While there, he led the team that recorded the first surplus for Nassau Health in 2009. Mr. Bie also has experience as the vice president of finance and chief restructuring officer for Bethpage, N.Y.-based Episcopal Health Services.

Bradley C. Bond. CFO for University Hospitals (Cleveland). Since February 2024, Mr. Bond has served as CFO of University Hospitals, overseeing financial operations for its $6 billion in annual revenues, 21 hospitals, and over 32,000 employees. Mr. Bond is responsible for the system's financial strategy, treasury, revenue cycle, IT, supply chain and more. Amid challenging economic conditions, he has spearheaded $250 million in financial improvements and maintained its strong credit ratings. Mr. Bond also played a key role in stabilizing the system's transition to Epic EHR. Under his leadership, the Harrington Discovery Institute advanced groundbreaking drug discovery initiatives and financial structures. Mr. Bond plays a key part in supporting the system's commitment to community health investments, prioritizing maternal and child health, wellbeing and economic opportunity, with $531 million invested in 2022 alone.

Kathy Bramwell. Chief Financial and Administrative Officer for Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (Newark, N.J.). As CFO of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences, Ms. Bramwell provides financial direction and administrative oversight for eight schools, a behavioral health network and five centers and institutes. She works in partnership with hospital affiliates to assure strong alignment and close collaboration. During her tenure, she has provided financial leadership for the development of Rutgers Health, the development of a major academic affiliation between Rutgers and RWJ Barnabas Health, and the current integration of RWJ Medical School and New Jersey Medical School.

Michael Breslin. Group Senior Vice President, CFO and Treasurer of NewYork-Presbyterian (New York City). Mr. Breslin became CFO of NewYork-Presbyterian in 2018. He is responsible for the financial matters at the health system, including revenue cycle, budgeting, reimbursement and cost accounting. Mr. Breslin has previous experience as senior vice president of finance at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist and CFO of Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City.

Latonya Brown. CFO for UNC Hospitals (Chapel Hill, N.C.). Ms. Brown, CFO for UNC Hospitals, oversees financial operations including general ledger, financial analysis, treasury, capital management and planning. With a strong technical and financial background, she brings a wealth of experience to the role. Before joining UNC Hospitals, Brown served as vice president, CFO and COO at UNC Rockingham in Eden, N.C. Her career also includes 12 years at Indiana University Health in Indianapolis, where she held various leadership positions within the academic medical center and its regional hospitals. Ms. Brown's diverse expertise positions her well to manage UNC Hospitals' financial strategy and operations, and played a role in the organization ranking as the No. 2 hospital in the state by U.S. News & World Report for 2024. 

Jacqueline Cabe. CFO of UW Medicine (Seattle) and Vice President for Medical Affairs of the University of Washington. Ms. Cabe is CFO of UW Medicine and vice president for medical affairs at the University of Washington. In this role, she oversees the financial success of the academic health system, which is one of only two in the state. She first joined the system in 2016. Ms. Cabe has previous experience as a partner with KPMG.

Ray Coto. Vice President and CFO of University of Miami (Fla.) Health System and Miller School of Medicine. Mr. Coto joined the University of Miami Health System in 2020 to oversee the financial department as CFO. He is the former COO of the Florida division of Long Beach, Calif.-based Molina Healthcare, and was interim CFO and administrative director of corporate finances at Nicklaus Children's Health System in Miami. In addition to the role of CFO, Mr. Coto is a board member for the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Dennis Dahlen. CFO of Mayo Clinic (Rochester, Minn.). Mr. Dahlen became CFO of Mayo Clinic in 2017 after spending nearly two decades in financial management at other health systems. He has previous experience at Phoenix-based Banner Health, where he rose to the position of senior vice president and CFO, after spending time in financial leadership roles at both Lutheran Health System and Concord Health Services. At Mayo, he is responsible for the financial success of the system's three hospital campuses.

Robin Damschroder. Executive Vice President and Chief Financial and Business Development Officer of Henry Ford Health System (Detroit). Ms. Damschroder leads strategic, financial and operational functions for the $7.0 billion academic health system, which features six hospitals, seven major medical centers and over 33,000 employees. In addition to her financial responsibilities, she recently expanded her role to include business development and operational oversight of IT, facilities and support services, and community care services. She became executive vice president and CFO of Henry Ford Health System after founding a healthcare consulting and advisory business firm. She also has experience as COO of the west market for Saint Joseph Mercy Health System.

Stephanie Daubert. CFO of Nebraska Medicine (Omaha). Ms. Daubert oversees the financial operations, including financial planning, payer strategies, revenue cycle, supply chain and facilities for Nebraska Medicine, a $2.6 billion academic health system with more than 10,000 employees, including more than 1,400 affiliate physicians. The system includes the 718-bed Nebraska Medical Center, 91-bed Bellevue Medical Center, and more than 70 specialty and primary care clinics. She has championed change initiatives, including expansion of services and facilities that have helped the health system maintain and grow positive margins coming out of the pandemic. Ms. Daubert also serves on several boards of directors, including for Building Healthy Futures, Durham Museum, Nebraska Health Partners, and the Nebraska Health Network.

Andrew DeVoe. CFO for Tufts Medicine (Burlington, Mass.). Mr. DeVoe took on the CFO role at Tufts Medicine in February 2024. He is charged with managing the creation of long-term financial strategies to foster continued growth for the system. Before joining Tufts, Mr. DeVoe was executive vice president and CFO of Cincinnati-based, clinically-integrated TriHealth for almost eight years. Before that, he was senior vice president and CFO for Philadelphia-based Aria Health System and held the same role at the University of Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia.

Staci Dickerson. CFO for Banner Health (Phoenix). Ms. Dickerson took on the CFO role at Banner Health in July 2023. As CFO of Banner Health, she is also responsible for Banner–University Medicine and its three academic medical centers. Having accumulated leadership expertise over the course of more than 25 years in healthcare, Ms. Dickerson joined Banner from Sharp HealthCare in San Diego. There, she held roles like system director of managed care finance, vice president of finance, and senior vice president of finance and CFO.

Jennifer Doll. CFO for UC Davis Health (Sacramento, Calif.). Ms. Doll, CFO for UC Davis Health, brings 31 years of experience to her role. She is responsible for overseeing the overall financial operation of the system, which includes the school of medicine, school of nursing, medical center, and the medical group. Her day-to-day tasks comprise financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, budgeting and accounting systems and procedures, revenue cycle management, health information management, capital planning and expenses, facilities planning, and design and development.

Lori Donaldson. CFO of UC San Diego Health. Ms. Donaldson is the CFO of UC San Diego Health, overseeing the health system's financial strategies, operating and capital budgets and financial reporting systems and controls – ultimately a budget of over $3 billion. Ms. Donaldson is also responsible for planning and executing strategic partnerships and financial planning for the system's capital projects. In addition to this role, Ms. Donaldson serves as a board member for the Bannister Family House at UC San Diego.

Susie Edwards. CFO for Medical University of South Carolina (Charleston, S.C.). Ms. Edwards assumed the CFO role for MUSC in April 2024. She has worked within the system for 27 years, holding finance roles of increasing responsibility since joining as a budget manager in 1997. Her most recent role prior to her promotion was university controller, a role in which she protected system assets via internal accounting, financial controls and procedural best practices.

Wendy Fielding. CFO and Senior Vice President of Finance for Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinics (Lebanon, N.H.). Ms. Fielding assumed her roles as CFO and senior vice president of finance in December 2021. She oversees the financial health of both entities and integrates financial planning across all system members. She first joined the medical center and clinics in 2009 as the vice president of financial planning and has since played an integral role in their financial turnaround. With a diverse career background that includes financial leadership at small, large, rural and urban organizations, Ms. Fielding brings an informed perspective of the value hospitals bring to their communities and the challenges they face. 

Robert Flannery. Senior Vice President and CFO for UW Health (Madison, Wis.). Mr. Flannery, CFO of UW Health, oversees the financial operations of the integrated health system associated with the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. The system employs over 24,000 staff across Wisconsin and Illinois. He is responsible for finance, payer contracting, treasury, revenue cycle and physician compensation. Mr. Flannery has been instrumental in maintaining UW Health's financial stability despite industry challenges, ensuring resources for patient care during the Covid-19 crisis and supporting long-term growth initiatives. He has led efforts to sustain positive financial margins, enabling strategic objectives such as workforce development and capital projects. His leadership has also been pivotal in managing partnerships, including the integration of SwedishAmerican Health System and collaborations with Access Community Health Centers. Mr. Flannery serves on multiple boards, including Quartz Health Plan Corporation, and is vice chair of Vizient’s CFO network steering committee.

Lawrence Furnstahl. Executive Vice President and CFO of Oregon Health & Science University Hospital (Portland). Mr. Furnstahl oversees financial aspects of Oregon Health & Science University Hospital as executive vice president and CFO. He joined the health system in 2011 after spending time as chief financial and strategy officer of University of Chicago Medical Center and biological sciences division and as the university’s vice president for financial planning for science. In addition to his current work with OHSU, Mr. Furnstahl serves as board director of the Hyde Park Art Center and vice chair of the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System board.

Niyum Gandhi. Treasurer and CFO at Mass General Brigham (Somerville). As treasurer and CFO, Mr. Gandhi’s responsibilities include financial oversight of Mass General Brigham's  $20 billion enterprise, including two academic medical centers, three specialty hospitals, seven community hospitals, more than 5,000-member physician organizations, and a nursing and health professions school. He leads several finance-related enterprise functions, including corporate accounting and payroll, annual budgeting, long-term financial planning, managed care contracting, a $13 billion revenue cycle operation, real estate, supply chain and investments. Mr. Gandhi also oversees Mass General Brigham Health Plan, which insures more than 400,000 members, and the diversified businesses unit, which includes Mass General Brigham’s specialty pharmacy, global advisory consulting business, and clinical AI business. A member of the system’s executive team, he also leads climate sustainability efforts, stewarding Mass General Brigham’s progress towards its net zero emissions target and broader environmental sustainability goals. Prior to joining Mass General Brigham, Mr. Gandhi was CFO of Mount Sinai Health System in New York City, following his service as its chief population health officer.

Doug Gaston. Senior Vice President and CFO at The University of Kansas Health System (Kansas City). Mr. Gaston is senior vice president and CFO for The University of Kansas Health System. He took on the role in May 2018 after joining the academic health system as vice president of financial integration and operational improvement in 2017. Prior, his career was in public accounting. 

Jeffrey P. Geoghegan. Executive Vice President of Finance and CFO of UConn Health and UConn (Farmington). Mr. Geoghegan oversees the financial operations and transactions associated with UConn Health, including those for the school of medicine, school of dental medicine, and John Dempsey Hospital. He has spent just over two decades at the health system and is responsible for facilitating quarterly budget and financial review meetings as well as developing the capital and operational budgets systemwide.

Robert Glenning. President of the Financial Services Division and CFO of Hackensack Meridian Health (Edison, N.J.). Mr. Glenning spent time as executive vice president and CFO of Hackensack University Health Network before becoming president of the financial services division and CFO of Hackensack Meridian Health in 2017. His financial oversight covers the health system’s 17 hospitals, four of which are academic medical centers, and over 500 patient care locations. Before working with Hackensack Meridian, Mr. Glenning served as vice president and CFO of Kaleida Health for seven years.

Lisa Goodlett. Senior Vice President, CFO and Treasurer of Duke University Health System (Durham, N.C.). Ms. Goodlett joined Duke University Health System from Charleston, S.C.-based Medical University of South Carolina, where she was system CFO. In her current role as senior vice president, CFO and treasurer, she ensures financial integrity and handles all aspects of financial services. In particular, she focuses on revenue enhancement, cost management and financial stewardship. She has over 30 years of healthcare experience as a CFO.

Fred Hargett. Executive Vice President and CFO for UPMC (Pittsburgh). Mr. Hargett became UPMC's executive vice president and CFO in October 2023. Beforehand, he was Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health's executive vice president and CFO for 15 years. Under his leadership, Novant Health expanded from a $1.5 billion organization to an $8 billion organization. Mr. Hargett also has experience as financial planner and analyst, and an executive vice president of finance.

Stephen Harvey. CFO of Mount Sinai Health System (New York City). Mr. Harvey is responsible for financial management, accounting and reporting, including operating and capital budget coordination and debt management. He provides financial analyses of new programs, acquisitions and business development initiatives to leadership. He was previously CFO of Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. During his 30 years at Mount Sinai, he has contributed greatly to its growth and financial success. He assisted the medical school dean with financial plans that supported two successful 10-year research and clinical strategic plans and prepared financing plans for Icahn Medical Institute and Hess Center for Science and Medicine buildings. He played a key role in aligning financial policies and procedures of the former Continuum physician practices with Mount Sinai doctors faculty practice when the health system formed. 

Scott Hawig. Chief Financial and Administrative Officer for Froedtert ThedaCare Health (Milwaukee). Mr. Hawig oversees the strategic and operational matters for finance and administration of the health system. He takes on financial planning and budgeting, financial reporting, revenue cycle management, supply chain operations, and insurance products and risk. He has previous experience as an executive with Duke University Health System in Durham, N.C.

Mark Henrichs. Associative Vice President and CFO of UI Health Care (Iowa City, Iowa). Mr. Henrichs was named CFO for UI Health Care in December 2021. He is responsible for overseeing financial operations across the entire health system, and in addition collaborates with key constituencies including UI finance and operations and the State of Iowa Board of Regents in his service for the executive leadership team. Prior to joining the University of Iowa, Mr. Henrichs had experience leading financial planning operations at the University of Missouri Healthcare in Columbia, Miss.

Rick Hinds. Senior Vice President and CFO of UC Health (Cincinnati). Mr. Hinds has been with UC Health and its predecessor companies for 27 years, and he has served as CFO since 2008. He has previous experience as CFO of the Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati and vice president of finance for University Hospitals in Cincinnati. He now oversees the financial operations of UC Health, which includes two hospitals as well as an 800-plus physician group. In 2011, Mr. Hinds was named CFO of the Year by the Cincinnati Business Courier, and in 2021 he was a finalist for the same award. In February 2022, he was appointed to serve as interim president and CEO and served in the role until January 2023.

Linda Hoff. CFO of Stanford (Calif.) Health Care. Ms. Hoff is CFO of Stanford Health Care, which she joined in 2017 after spending time as senior vice president and CFO of Legacy Health, an Oregon-based health system. She brought with her more than 30 years of executive and finance experience. In her current role, she oversees Stanford Health Care's finance strategy, planning and reporting. 

Troy Holmes. CFO for University of Toledo (Ohio) Medical Center. After serving as CFO for Advanced Specialty Hospitals of Toledo and NewVista Health and Wellness in Ohio, Mr. Holmes joined the University of Toledo Medical Center in 2019 as administrative director of finance and reimbursement and was given the additional title of CFO in 2020. He has experience with financial planning initiatives, developing and monitoring key metrics, and tracking costs and performance.

Lugene Inzana. CFO of Maine Medical Center and Associate CFO of MaineHealth (Portland). Mr. Inzana has more than 30 years of leadership experience. He served as the vice president of finance and support services and CFO of Lawrence + Memorial Corp./Hospital in New London, Conn., before joining Maine Medical Center in 2014. He is responsible for the hospital's budget and reimbursement, financial reporting, supply chain, financial planning and revenue cycle management.

Gail Kosyla. Executive Vice President and CFO for Yale New Haven (Conn.) Health. Ms. Kosyla serves as the executive vice president and CFO for Yale New Haven Health, an academic health system and provider of comprehensive care in over 100 medical specialties. She is responsible for financial strategy and operations for the $6.2 billion health system. Prior to assuming her current position in November 2022, Ms. Kosyla led financial operations for West Orange, N.J.-based RWJBarnabas Health, where she handled revenue cycle, supply chain, treasury services, financial reporting, payroll and financial planning. She also worked to achieve strategic growth goals across the system's central region. 

JoAnn Kunkel. CFO for LCMC Health (New Orleans). Ms. Kunkel is the CFO for LCMC and its nine hospitals, leading the finance and accounting departments and serving as a financial and strategic business advisor to the hospital system CEO and broader leadership team. She has years of finance and healthcare experience, spending the bulk of her career at Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Sanford Health as corporate CFO, where she led the transformation of the finance organization together with a team of more than 3,000 finance, accounting, revenue cycle and analytics professionals. There, she was responsible for overseeing financial operations and the integration of the system hospitals and clinics into the broader operating company. She also oversaw operational and financial aspects of the $1 billion Sanford Health Plan, serving membership in commercial and individual products including multi-state exchange products, Medicare supplemental and Medicaid expansion lines of business.

Raaj Kurapati. Executive Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration and COO for the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (Memphis). Mr. Kurapati joined the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in July 2023, following a multi-year tenure as the executive vice president and chief operating and financial officer for the University of Memphis (Tenn.). There, he oversaw all administrative and financial units of the university. In his current role, he and the other members of the finance office oversee the financial integrity of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, handling all revenue and expenditures. He and the team also manage the center's cash balances and reserves.

Angela Lalas. CFO for Loma Linda (Calif.) University Hospitals and Executive Vice President for Finance for Loma Linda University Health. After serving LLUH as senior vice president for finance since 2015, and being appointed CFO in 2018, Ms. Lalas was promoted to also hold the title of executive vice president of finance in 2021. She has experience overseeing the six-hospital health system's finances and directing the Loma Linda University Foundation. Prior to joining Loma Linda in 2006, Ms. Lalas was a senior tax consultant for Deloitte.

Dennis Laraway. Executive Vice President and CFO of Cleveland Clinic. Mr. Laraway was named Cleveland Clinic's new CFO in March 2023. He joined Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit academic medical center comprising 22 hospitals, after having served as executive vice president and CFO at Banner Health, a $12 billion Phoenix-based health system. He also has experience as CFO for Scott & White Health in Temple, Texas. 

Mike Larson. Senior Vice President of Finance and CFO of Johns Hopkins Health System (Baltimore). Mr. Larson oversees the financial operations for Johns Hopkins and its managed care organization. His goal is to ensure the health system achieves its budget by increasing revenues each year and improving operational efficiencies. Mr. Larson has more than 35 years of experience in healthcare, and has improved staff development, customer service delivery and policies to streamline financial processes.

Matthew Lester. Executive Vice President of Finance and Administration and COO of Medical College of Wisconsin (Milwaukee). Mr. Lester joined the Medical College of Wisconsin in August 2022 as executive  vice president for finance and COO. His responsibilities included all of MCW’s financial functions as well as planning, organizing, evaluating and monitoring administrative and facilities functions. Prior to taking on his current role, he served as vice dean for finance and administration at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland and as an adjunct professor in the University’s Division of General Medical Sciences. 

Joseph J. Lhota. Executive Vice President and Vice Dean, CFO and Chief of Staff for NYU Langone Health (New York City). Mr. Lhota is NYU Langone Health's executive vice president and vice dean, CFO and chief of staff. He took on the role in February 2024, bringing over 40 years of managerial and policymaking experience. His role entails overarching financial management of the system, including financial operations, accounting, financial planning, analysis, budgets, revenue cycle operations, supply chain management, decision support, strategy and value improvement. 

Stephan Lillie. Senior Vice President and CFO of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist (Winston-Salem, N.C.). Mr. Lillie joined Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in 2021, bringing 11 years of finance experience to the table. As CFO, he works to support and oversee hospital system turnarounds, long range financial and capital planning, and hospital operation efficiency. In addition to handling finances for the integrated clinical system that includes both an 885-bed tertiary-care hospital as well as the Wake Forest School of Medicine, Mr. Lillie is also a Baptist preacher.

Anna Loomis. CFO at Renown Health (Reno, Nev.). With 20 years in financial leadership, Ms. Loomis recently joined Renown to oversee all aspects of financial management including budgeting, financial planning, revenue cycle management, supply chain and strategic investments. A shared vision for A Healthy Nevada took flight in 2021 with the signing of a 50-year affiliation agreement with The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine, creating the state’s first integrated, academic health system. Ms. Loomis and team are leading efforts to strengthen Renown’s financial position, build partnerships and advance a mission to deliver quality care and service to patients. The system's financials and ratings rebounded significantly over the past year given Renown's position as the service area's largest acute care provider. In response to rising consumer demand, Ms. Loomis is aiding in a master facility and strategic planning process to help ensure Renown has adequate bed and procedure capacity, as well as spaces to accommodate new technology and services. Before joining Renown, Ms. Loomis served as senior vice president and CFO at Portland, Ore.-based Legacy Health, and prior to that the same position for MultiCare Health System in Tacoma, Wash.

Melissa Lukasick. Regional CFO for Loyola Medicine (Maywood, Ill.). Ms. Lukasick serves as regional CFO of Loyola Medicine, overseeing the financial operations of a health system that includes Loyola University Medical Center, MacNeal Hospital and Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, as well as multiple outpatient centers. She manages financial accountability for both Illinois and Indiana regions, including Trinity Health's St. Joseph Health System. With responsibility for over $2 billion in revenue, she leads teams handling accounting, IT, revenue cycle and more. Known for her focus on performance excellence and lean management, Ms. Lukasick has driven multiple financial turnarounds and spearheaded the rollout of a centralized data hub for strategic decision-making. She also oversaw the construction of a $70-million outpatient center in Tinley Park, Ill., which opened in 2023, and has maintained financial stability amid industry challenges.

Stacey Malakoff. Executive Vice President and Chief Financial and Administrative Officer of Hospital for Special Surgery (New York City). Ms. Malakoff oversees financial operations at Hospital for Special Surgery, the world’s leading academic medical center focused on musculoskeletal health. She is responsible for accounting and reporting, revenue cycle, capital and debt strategy, and supply chain. In addition, Ms. Malakoff leads physician contracting, payer strategy and contracting, insurance and real estate. Furthermore, she has a central role on the executive leadership team that manages the planning and execution of all strategic business development initiatives and related partnerships.

Michael Marquardt. CFO of UVA Medical Center (Charlottesville). Mr. Marquardt became CFO of Hospital and Clinic Operations of UVA Medical Center in August 2019. He has previous experience as chief of staff for the executive vice president for health affairs of the health system. In his current role, Mr. Marquardt oversees financial reporting, decision support, planning and analysis, budgeting, supply chain and material operations, procurement, purchasing, and more.

Raymond McCarthy. Senior Vice President, CFO and Treasurer of Baystate Health (Springfield, Mass.). Mr. McCarthy is responsible for the financial oversight of Baystate Health, a $2.4 billion integrated health delivery system with the only academic medical center in western Massachusetts. He has 30 years of healthcare experience, having joined Baystate in 1993. His responsibilities include providing systemwide vision, strategic direction and operational leadership of all aspects of Baystate’s finance areas to ensure the system's overall financial health. His other roles include serving as CFO of both Baystate’s provider enterprise, Baystate Medical Practices, and its joint venture, Baycare Health Partners, which oversees Baystate’s value-based risk arrangements through an accountable care and physician hospital organization.

Richard Miller, PhD. Vice President and CFO of SUNY Downstate Health Science University (Brooklyn, N.Y.). As CFO, Dr. Miller is charged with leading SUNY Downstate Health Science University's finance division. In his role, he protects the organization's assets while upholding its financial health and standing. He took on the CFO role in November 2019 after serving in an interim capacity for several months. He first joined the organization in 2012 and has since assumed finance roles of progressive responsibility. Before joining SUNY Downstate Health Science University, Dr. Miller held several leadership roles at University of Chicago Medical Center throughout his nearly 30-year tenure. 

Daniel Morash. CFO and Senior Vice President of Finance for Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Boston). Mr. Morash is responsible for creating financial strategies at Brigham and Women's Hospital, the Brigham and Women's Physicians Organization and Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital. He has worked at Mass General Brigham health system for more than nine years and brings extensive experience and knowledge of hospital operations and finance to his role.

John Mordach. Executive Vice President and CFO of Jefferson (Philadelphia). Mr. Mordach brings more than 30 years of experience in senior financial leadership roles to his role as executive vice president and CFO of Jefferson. Prior, he served as senior vice president, CFO and treasurer for Durham, N.C.-based Duke University Health System. In recognition for his work, he has earned the distinction of "CFO of the Year" in the large not-for-profit sector from the Chicago Chapter of the Financial Executives International Organization.

Susan K. Nelson. Executive Vice President and CFO of MedStar Health (Columbia, Md.). As the executive vice president and CFO of MedStar Health, Ms. Nelson manages finances for the $7.7 billion academic health system. Her role entails financial reporting, financial planning, revenue cycle, capital management, bond financing, investment activities, managed care contracting, performance improvement, analytics and business development. Ms. Nelson first joined MedStar Health in 2005, serving as the vice president of financial operations. Since then, she has taken on progressive roles in finance at the health system. 

John Orsini. Senior Vice President and CFO of Northwestern Memorial HealthCare (Chicago). Mr. Orsini has spent more than 30 years of his career in healthcare finance, currently serving as senior vice president and CFO of Northwestern Memorial HealthCare. The system has hundreds of locations in the Chicago area as well as over 5,500 aligned physicians. He has prior experience as executive vice president and CFO for Cadence Health and CFO of the 12-hospital Presence Health in Chicago.

Charlton Park. CFO and Chief Analytics Officer of University of Utah Health (Salt Lake City). Mr. Park is responsible for the financial planning, budgeting and accounting for University of Utah Health. He also oversees the system's capital financial planning, analytics and revenue cycle. Mr. Park was also among the key players in developing the health system's value driven outcomes initiative and various integration models across clinical departments.

Julia Puchtler. CFO at Penn Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Health System (Philadelphia). Ms. Puchtler leads the $11 billion, multistate academic health system's capital and operating budget process, providing strategic financial guidance to reach system goals including growth, funds flow, care delivery simplification, research infrastructure strength, and transformative workforce planning and development. Ms. Puchtler previously served as CFO of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, a 1,200-bed acute care hospital within Penn Medicine. In this role, she oversaw all aspects of hospital financial performance, including the financial planning for and opening of its new $1.6 billion patient pavilion. She was pivotal in meeting financial targets despite labor shortages and increasing health care costs. Ms. Puchtler has been a fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association since 2011.

Dan Rieber. Vice President and CFO of UCHealth (Aurora). Mr. Rieber oversees the financial department for UCHealth, which reports $4.5 billion in operating revenue and has a workforce of over 26,000 people. The 12-hospital health system has experienced consistent bond rating improvements over the years. Mr. Rieber joined the system in 2007 as director of finance and controller of University of Colorado Hospital and became the vice president and CFO of UCHealth Memorial in 2014. He was promoted to system vice president and CFO in 2017.

Chuck Robb. Executive Vice President and CFO for BJC Health System (St. Louis). Mr. Robb handles all finance functions for BJC Health System, encompassing finance, supply chain, treasury, revenue cycle and managed care. Through this role, he is responsible for the financial stability of the system's two academic medical centers, Barnes-Jewish Hospital and St. Louis Children's Hospital. He previously served as senior vice president and CFO for Saint Luke’s Health System, which is the western region of BJC Health System. He first joined Sant Luke’s in 1991. In 2021, Mr. Robb was among the Kansas City Business Journal’s "CFOs of the Year". 

Kevin Roberts. Executive Vice President and CFO of Geisinger (Danville, Pa.). Mr. Roberts oversees all financial activities and serves on the executive leadership team at Geisinger, an $8 billion health system that includes numerous hospitals, care locations, a medical school and a statewide health plan. He joined in 2018, bringing more than 30 years of professional experience. He has an extensive background in business development and growth, corporate finance, health plans, mergers and acquisitions, financial operations, technology and investment management in large, complex, multi-site healthcare organizations. Previously he served as senior vice president and CFO for St. Louis-based BJC HealthCare and held executive financial positions at Shaker Heights, Ohio-based University Hospitals Health System and Cleveland Clinic.

Frank Runion. Vice President and CFO for Indiana University Health Adult Academic Health Center (Indianapolis). Mr. Runion is CFO of Indiana University Health Adult Academic Health Center, the organization's academic medical center. He oversees the financial operations and strategic planning for University and Methodist Hospitals, as well as Riley Children’s Health. He manages budgets, financial analysis and capital management across multiple hospitals and outpatient sites. Mr. Runion is currently leading the financial aspects of IU Health’s $4 billion hospital expansion, which includes the construction of an 864-bed facility in downtown Indianapolis, set to open in 2027. Known for his deep financial expertise and strategic vision, Mr. Runion prioritizes patient care in his decision-making, aligning financial strategies with the organization's long-term goals. Outside of his over 20-year tenure as a leader at IU Health, he is also involved in the Children’s Hospital Association and serves on the Indiana Burn Camp board.

Mark Runyon. Executive Vice President and CFO for Tampa (Fla.) General Hospital. Mr. Runyon leads financial operations for Tampa General Hospital, overseeing an academic health system that includes six hospitals and more than 150 care locations. He collaborates with leadership to drive innovation, financial stability and operational efficiency, playing a key role in executing the system's five-year master facility plan, the largest capital initiative in the system’s history. Mr. Runyon was instrumental in the acquisition of the Bravera Health network, expanding Tampa General’s footprint and integrating its operations. He also leads the financial strategy behind the development of the Tampa Medical and Research District, a hub for clinical care, research and biotechnology anchored by Tampa General and the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine. Recognized nationally for his financial leadership, Mr. Runyon has earned accolades such as the 2024 "Chief Financial Officer of the Year" by Tampa Bay Business Journal.

John Shaughnessy. CFO for Ochsner LSU Health (Shreveport, La.). Mr. Shaughnessy, CFO of Ochsner LSU Health, oversees financial planning and operations for a network that includes multiple outpatient clinics and three acute care hospitals, including North Louisiana’s only level I trauma center, a newly renovated women’s and children’s hospital, and Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport–Academic Medical Center. He also manages financials for Louisiana Behavioral Health, a partnership with Plano, Texas-based Oceans Healthcare that provides mental health services. A certified public accountant with over a decade of healthcare experience, Mr. Shaughnessy previously held leadership roles at Irving, Texas-based Christus Health and Florence, S.C.-based McLeod Health. In 2023, he was named one of the top 25 CFOs in Louisiana by Finance and Investing.

Randolph P. Siwabessy. CFO for UCI Health and UCI School of Medicine and Senior Vice President of Finance and Value Transformation for UCI Health (Orange, Calif.). Mr. Siwabessy serves as CFO for UCI Health and the UC Irvine School of Medicine, overseeing business, finance and strategic initiatives across the system. Since joining in 2021, he has led significant growth, increasing UCI Health's revenue by 15% annually and playing a key role in a $975 million acquisition from Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare, which expanded the hospital network from one to five facilities. Mr. Siwabessy has been instrumental in advancing UCI Health's $1.3 billion project to construct the UCI Health-Irvine complex, with its final phase set to open in 2025. He has also driven value-based care initiatives, including improving population health management and aligning financial strategies across the enterprise. Under his leadership, the UCI Health ACO has shown strong growth and improved performance in Medi-Cal quality measures.

George Sprinkel. Senior Vice President and CFO of University of Maryland Medical Center (Baltimore). Mr. Sprinkel joined the University of Maryland’s Medical Center as senior vice president and CFO in December 2021. With more than two decades of CFO experience, most recently with George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C., he plays a critical role in guiding the UMMC leadership team in improving performance and outcomes, quality and safety, and patient experience that impact the system’s financial health. Mr. Sprinkel also plays a large role in capital investment and operating expense decision making for the health system.

J. Matthew Straub. CFO of Marshall Health (Huntington, W.Va.). Mr. Straub has more than 25 years of accounting experience and 20 years in healthcare administration. He leads the financial and patient accounting functions at Marshall Health and oversees budgeting for the health system and Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine.

Eric Strucko. CFO for Michigan Medicine (Ann Arbor). Mr. Strucko serves as CFO for Michigan Medicine, overseeing its $7.9 billion clinical operation and directing financial strategy, planning and reporting during a period of significant expansion. He is managing the integration of University of Michigan Health-Sparrow into the regional network and advancing key capital projects, including the construction of the D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavilion and additional health centers. Under his leadership, Michigan Medicine is projected to end fiscal year 2024 with a 2.9% operating margin, supporting its growth and innovation initiatives. Prior to joining Michigan Medicine, Mr. Strucko held financial leadership roles at Keck Medicine of USC in Los Angeles and Hershey, Pa.-based Penn State Health, bringing extensive experience in managing healthcare finances. His work ensures Michigan Medicine remains financially robust while delivering high-quality patient care.

Omer Sultan. Senior Vice President and CFO for The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston). Mr. Sultan, senior vice president and CFO at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, oversees the institution’s financial operations, including general accounting, treasury management and strategic financial planning. Since joining in 2021, he has driven process improvements and enhanced financial transparency while aligning fiscal strategies with MD Anderson’s growth objectives. Mr. Sultan has been instrumental in surpassing national benchmarks, with operating revenues exceeding $6.6 billion last year, and is deeply involved in optimizing revenue streams to support patient care, research and education. His leadership style emphasizes collaboration, financial literacy and innovation, positioning MD Anderson for continued expansion and success. Prior to this role, he led financial operations at Chicago-based Northwestern Medicine, contributing to its growth into an 11-hospital network.

Robert Thornton. Senior Vice President and CFO for UF Health Shands (Gainesville). Mr. Thornton took on the senior vice president and CFO role at UF Health Shands in July 2023, following seven years serving as vice president of finance at the organization. Before joining UF Health, he served as the executive vice president and CFO for GBMC Healthcare in Baltimore. Immediately prior to that, he was the executive vice president and CFO for Bayfront Health System in St. Petersburg, Fla. Overall, Mr. Thornton has held financial leadership roles in healthcare for over 30 years. 

Paula Tinch. Executive Vice President of Finance and CFO of Penn State Health (Hershey, Pa.). Ms. Tinch joined Penn State Health in 2019 as executive vice president and CFO. She is responsible for the health system's financial planning, financial risk management and revenue cycle. Prior to joining Penn State Health, Ms. Tinch was senior vice president of finance for Rochester Regional Health in N.Y., where she was responsible for core functions and aspects of the $2.2 billion health system.

Michael Tramonte. Senior Vice President of Finance and Business Services and CFO of UTHealth (Houston). Mr. Tramonte joined UTHealth in 2004 as assistant vice president of finance and controller, and since then has been promoted to senior vice president of finance and business services and CFO. He is responsible for the financial department at UTHealth, which includes a hospital, medical school and clinical practices. In addition, Mr. Tramonte serves on the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board’s health-related institutions formula advisory committee as a representative for UTHealth Houston and is committee chair.

Doug Vanderslice. System CFO and Executive Vice President of Enterprise Services at Boston Children’s Hospital. For the past decade, Mr. Vanderslice has helped ensure the financial strength of the entire Boston Children’s Hospital organization. Under his guidance, the organization has made major investments in expanding clinical access, including the new 11-story Hale Family Building, an ambulatory satellite expansion, new research laboratory spaces, an affiliation with a hospital specializing in pediatric mental health and rehabilitative care, and the modernization of its EHR. As part of a multi-year plan, he has shaped Boston Children’s strategy to address post-pandemic headwinds, including inflationary pressures, reduced volume, workforce shortages and other factors. 

Rick Vincent. Executive Vice President and CFO of The University of Vermont Health Network (Burlington). Mr. Vincent is executive vice president and CFO for the UVM Health Network. Prior, he was senior vice president and CFO of the UVM Medical Center and UVM Health Network Medical Group since 2015. He is responsible for the financial operations of the health system. He has previous experience as vice president of finance for UVM Medical Group.

Jennifer Wakem. CFO of University Medical Center of Southern Nevada (Las Vegas). Ms. Wakem now has nearly eight years of experience as CFO of University Medical Center of Southern Nevada. She oversees the financial health of the hospital, which includes Nevada’s only level 1 trauma center, pediatric trauma center, burn care center and transplant center. She has previous experience as associate CFO of Tenet Healthcare.

Tammy Wallace. CFO at UCLA Health (Los Angeles). Ms. Wallace is responsible for overseeing such functions as revenue cycle, chargemaster, third-party reimbursement, service line financial management, accounting and audit, financial planning, supply chain, medical coding, mergers and acquisitions, contracting, decision support and financial technologies. She provides strategic financial leadership on both internal and external market opportunities, and her work is instrumental in leading cost savings, supporting strategic expansion and implementing new technology. Most recently, Ms. Wallace led the financial planning and due diligence for two hospital acquisitions. She also oversaw a transformation model to spearhead consensus-building for margin-enhancing initiatives such as labor efficiencies, pharmacy growth, length of stay reductions, service mix, standardization of implants and supplies, purchasing, strategic pricing and other revenue enhancements. In addition, she supported financial and operational due diligence to assess readiness and launch for an at-risk Medicare Advantage plan. In part due to Ms. Wallace’s leadership, UCLA Health has one of the nation's strongest cash-on-hand positions to maintain confidence in bond markets and financial liquidity.

James Watson. CFO at OU Health (Oklahoma City, Okla.). As an executive of the state’s flagship academic health system, Mr. Watson has been an instrumental financial and business leader through significant transition and growth. This is evidenced by many accomplishments, including when OU Health divested from Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA in 2018 and acquired the faculty practice plan and clinics in 2021 to become an integrated academic health system. In a difficult post-Covid 19 environment, his focus led to improved credit outlooks from both Moody’s and S&P. Overseeing a budget of more than $3 billion across three hospitals and 15 outpatient locations, his leadership has included financial oversight of the statewide expansion of OU Health’s NCI-designated cancer center and the expansion of the footprint of the state’s only comprehensive children’s hospital to include Oklahoma’s only pediatric behavioral health facility. Mr. Watson’s career has spanned for-profit and nonprofit health systems. He began his executive career at Keck Medicine of USC in Los Angeles, served at HCA and served as CFO for OU Medicine (now OU Health) 1998 until 2011, prior to its integration. He was executive vice president and CFO at The University of Chicago Medical Center before returning to OU Heath six years ago. 

Bonnie White. CFO of UNM Hospital (Albuquerque). Ms. White oversees the finance department at UNM Hospital, part of the UNM Health System, which includes the only academic medical center in New Mexico. With providers specializing in over 150 areas of medicine, the system cares for over a million patients per year and handles about 22,000 surgical cases annually.

Scott R. Wolfe. Network Senior Vice President of Finance and CFO for St. Luke's University Health Network (Bethlehem, Pa.). Mr. Wolfe has served as network senior vice president of finance and CFO for St. Luke's University Health Network since August 2022. Prior, he was interim senior vice president of finance and CFO from January 2022. He was also president of St. Luke's Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg, N.J. from 2012 to 2022. He brings over 40 years of experience in the healthcare industry and has held leadership roles like CEO, COO and CFO across various hospitals. 

Stuart Wright. CFO of Upstate University Hospital (Syracuse, N.Y.). Mr. Wright oversees the financial functions for Upstate University Hospital, which include accounting, financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, cash and investment management, revenue cycle and managed care contracting. Mr. Wright is also responsible for the patient access services and health information management.
