Kathryn Abbate, former CEO of Miami Beach (Fla.) Community Health Center, has been sentenced to 3.5 years in prison for embezzling more than $6 million from the hospital.
Between 2007 and 2012, Ms. Abbate collected more than $3 million in non-accrued vacation pay and other undue compensation, and another $3 million in payments for "community development."
Ms. Abbate's 42 months in prison will be followed by three years of supervised release.
