UC San Diego Health is using a $22 million donation to establish a new center for digital information and artificial intelligence, La Jolla Light reported May 6.
The new center, which will be located at UC San Diego Jacobs Medical Center, aims to consolidate the organization's digital information it is gathering through various programs and pilots.
Professionals within the center will also be able to assess which algorithms, programs and pilots should be rolled out and which can wait.
Christopher Longhurst, MD, chief medical officer and chief digital officer of UC San Diego Health, said it will take the organization several years to get the new center up and running.
