Sharp HealthCare, based in San Diego, has teamed up with the local incubator EvoNexus to assess advanced medical technology, The San Diego Union Tribune reported Oct. 25.
Under the partnership, Sharp HealthCare will evaluate emerging technologies in their early stages, while startups associated with EvoNexus will have the opportunity to refine their products in collaboration with medical experts.
This will allow Sharp to identify startups that exhibit potential and could be deserving of the hospital's future consideration.
Rick LeMoine, MD, chief medical information officer for Sharp HealthCare, told the publication that this establishes a promising pathway for early-stage solutions to reach medical professionals who will actively incorporate them into their daily practice.
