A new Sentara hospital in Elizabeth City, N.C., will feature a digital hub that will allow patients to connect with clinicians virtually, according to Oct. 4 reporting in The Daily Advocate.
The new medical office building will total 83,000 square feet andis expected to be completed early next year. It is scheduled to open in late 2024 or early 2025.
"If they [patients] don't have their own technology[,] they can come into the building and they will get on the computer and talk with a specialist, whether it's a cardiologist or if it is one of our other specialists," Sentara Albemarle Medical Center president Phil Jackson said about the digital hub. "We are really excited about that and that saves an hour-plus drive up and back."
