By the end of 2023, funding for healthcare artificial intelligence companies is expected to fall 28 percent year-over-year, according to an Aug. 1 report from CBInsights.
So far, healthcare AI companies have raised $2.6 billion across 192 deals in 2023. Even with the slowdown in overall funding, deal size has dipped by just 3 percent compared to 2022.
There are currently more than 1,500 healthcare AI vendors, over half of them were founded in the past seven years.
Between 2019 and 2022, equity investors poured $31.5 billion into healthcare.
