Naples (Fla.) Community Hospital opened a multimillion-dollar medical simulation center used to train clinicians on real-world scenarios, local news outlet NBC2 reported April 7.
The simulation center includes a mixed reality space to train clinicians on hundreds of scenarios, a virtual dissection assistant and tech-enabled mannequins that serve as patients.
"Our hope with all the technology and ability in the center is to recruit and retain healthcare workers," Douglas Harrington, DO, the center's medical director, told NBC2. "More importantly, to improve the outcome and safety of patients we take care of."
