Data analytics startup launches with Cleveland Clinic, Houston Methodist partnerships

Health Data Analytics Institute, a startup using artificial intelligence to build patient risk profiles to support clinical decision-making, came out of stealth mode with the launch of a new application programming interface on March 3.

Along with the launch of the API, which will give more health systems and physician groups access to the HDAI analytics platform, the startup also announced partnerships with Cleveland Clinic, Houston Methodist and Boston-based New England Baptist Hospital in a news release sent to Becker's Hospital Review.

HDAI is collaborating with Cleveland Clinic to use AI to determine the most effective level of presurgical support for individual patients, while the Houston Methodist partnership will test potential new clinical applications to expand the HDAI platform's capabilities. With New England Baptist Hospital, HDAI is studying the effectiveness of both surgical and nonsurgical spinal procedures.

"Our goal is to democratize access to artificial intelligence in healthcare, to make it available and as easy to use for as many organizations and individuals as possible," Nassib Chamoun, founder and CEO of HDAI, said in the release. "Our API-accessible platform delivers a suite of risk predictors, developed using more than 100 billion de-identified patient encounters. Client teams can load recent clinical data for individual patients or defined populations into our models to generate detailed, real-time risk profiles that can support better clinical decisions and more appropriate resource allocation."
