Augmented reality technology allows clinicians to practice new techniques in a virtual world.
Here are five ways Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic use the new technology:
Mayo Clinic:
- The health system participated in a $15 million strategic funding round for the augmented reality medtech company MediView.
- Mayo also joined in a $20 million series A financing round for augmented reality company Medivis.
- In December 2022, Mayo entered into a know-how agreement with MediView to use its technology to help clinicians practice complex procedures.
Cleveland Clinic:
- Cleveland Clinic also participated in MediView’s $15 million strategic funding round.
- The health system is using Microsoft HoloLens to improve the health of its neurology patients.
