UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pa., has signed a letter of intent to enter a strategic affiliation with Dunkirk-based Lake Erie Regional Health System of New York.
LERHSNY had conducted a comprehensive evaluation process of multiple large healthcare entities, and the board of trustees decided that UPMC Hamot was the best option. The affiliation will provide LERHSNY with key clinical and operational expertise; higher levels of quality care and patient satisfaction; support for comprehensive physician development and recruitment efforts; strategic planning assistance; and investment in state-of-the-art technology.
