Chapel Hill, N.C.-based UNC Health Care System and Pardee Hospital in Hendersonville, N.C., have agreed to expand their management agreement by 15 years.
In June 2011, the county-owned, 222-bed Pardee approved the initial affiliation agreement, in which UNC Health Care manages all operations of the hospital in exchange for roughly $180,000 per year. Today, the Henderson County board of commissioners revised the memorandum of understanding between UNC Health Care and Pardee to extend the management agreement from 10 to 25 years.
In addition, the revised agreement will allow UNC Health Care to invest more into Pardee's facilities and operations, and Pardee's lease with the county for the hospital buildings and land was also extended.
