OhioHealth continues to expand its footprint in the Buckeye State, as the Columbus-based health system and Athens, Ohio-based O'Bleness Health System have signed a memorandum of understanding for O'Bleness to merge with OhioHealth.
OhioHealth and O'Bleness, which includes 64-bed O'Bleness Memorial Hospital, will now undergo due diligence to look at the financial and operational ramifications of the deal. Initial financial terms were not disclosed.
Executives of both systems expect due diligence will be completed this summer, with O'Bleness officially joining OhioHealth as a member in early fall.
Last month, OhioHealth signed a letter of intent to acquire MedCentral Health System, a two-hospital system based in Mansfield, Ohio.
