Hartford, Conn.-based St. Francis Care announced it has allowed its letter of intent to integrate with St. Louis-based Ascension Health Care Network to expire.
Ascension Health Care Network is a for-profit affiliate of St. Louis-based nonprofit chain Ascension Health, the largest U.S. Catholic health system. Saint Francis signed a letter of intent with Ascension in January in hopes of expanding its reach to the statewide market.
In a statement, St. Francis President and CEO Christopher Dadlez said the system would continue to operate uninterrupted. Details of the decision will not be disclosed, according to the statement.
