Wheeling, W.Va.-based Ohio Valley Health Services and Education Corp., the parent company of Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling, W.Va., and East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry, Ohio, have ended partnership talks with Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems, according to a report by The Intelligencer/Wheeling News-Register.
In June, Ohio Valley Health Services announced it was going through a due diligence process to determine if it should partner with CHS.
"After working through the due diligence process, we have decided that it is in the best interest of our organization to continue and extend our research without completing an affiliation with Community Health Systems," Jerry Narcisi, chairman of the Ohio Valley Health Services and Education Corp. board of trustees, said in the report.
Ohio Valley Health Services does not have another partner in mind right now, according to the report.
