Wheeling, W.Va.-based Ohio Valley Health Services and Education Corp., parent company of Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling, W.Va., and East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry, Ohio, has signed a letter of intent to affiliate with Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems, according to a Herald Star report.
The affiliation could result in CHS partially or wholly owning Ohio Valley Health Services, according to the report. A final deal is expected in two to three months. According to the report, if Ohio Valley Health Services became a part of CHS, it would receive capital for equipment purchases and renovations.
