Memorial Medical Center in Ludington, Mich., drew interest from 27 various-sized hospitals and health systems for a possible affiliation, and the hospital has narrowed its choices to a handful of "major" health systems, according to a Ludington Daily News report.
In October, the hospital's board of directors informed the community it would look to integrate with a larger health system. Memorial CEO Mark Vipperman told the Ludington Daily News that the 87-bed hospital has solid financials, but the administration wants "to ensure we're around decades into the future."
The board may make a final decision on a partner by the end of this year.
