Auburn (N.Y.) Community Hospital and Rochester (N.Y.) General Health System have decided not to affiliate after considering a deal for four months, according to a Rochester Business Journal report.
ACH has reopened its search for an affiliate and plans to pursue a partnership with another health system. ACH President and CEO Scott Berlucchi said the due diligence process helped the hospital better understand the community's concerns about losing ties with healthcare providers they already know, according to the report.
"If a partnership doesn’t work for the community, it won’t work for the hospital or the health system," Mark Clement, president and CEO of RGHS, said in the report. "This is the reason we perform a comprehensive due diligence period, and never promise an outcome before that exercise is complete. Auburn Community Hospital is a very important community asset, and we wish the team well as they continue through this process."
