A state regulatory panel will hold two public hearings on the same day to consider community reactions to the proposed merger between Illinois' Provena Health and Resurrection Health Care, according to a News-Gazette report.
The merger agreement between Mokena-based Provena and Chicago-based Resurrection was reached in July. The deal would create the largest Catholic health system in Illinois. The state Health Facilities and review Board is set to consider the deal in October.
The public hearings will take place Aug. 17 in Urbana and Danville, Ill.
