Prime Healthcare Services Foundation, the non-profit arm of Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare Services, plans to acquire bankrupt Victor Valley Community Hospital in Victorville, Calif., for $35 million, according to a Daily Press report.
VVCH has accepted the offer, which the U.S. Bankruptcy Court and California attorney general must approve.
Prime plans to keep VVCH as a non-profit and seeks to improve its quality of care by hiring more full-time employees, upgrading radiology equipment, getting the lab recertified and analyzing the factors leading to the hospital's bankruptcy.
