CMS is considering expanding its pilot program for patient-centered medical homes from eight states to more.
In 2009, CMS selected eight states to participate in the Multi-Payer Advanced Primary Care Practice Demonstration: Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont. The program evaluates the effectiveness of PCMHs for Medicare, Medicaid and private health plans.
CMS is accepting comments through July 30 on a proposed collection of information to help determine whether the three-year demo should be expanded to other states under Medicare.
