Phoenix-based Banner Health Network, the system's new accountable care organization, has collaborated with Aetna to form a new commercial health plan that provides access to coordinated care from physicians and facilities in the Banner Health Network, according to an Aetna news release.
The new plan, Aetna Whole Health, will be available later this month to employers in Arizona's Maricopa County and some in Pinal County who have eligible employees. The plan will let members pay less out of pocket and will employ a risk-sharing agreement that compensates Banner based on outcomes.
Earlier this month, Banner was the first health system accepted by CMS to participate in the agency's ACO Pioneer Program. It still has to confirm the offer to participate.
