Phoenix-based Banner Health System is the latest suitor of Memorial Health System in Colorado Springs, Colo., joining Aurora-based University of Colorado Hospital as a potential partner for the health system, according to an article in the Northern Colorado Business Report.
Memorial said last week it plans to accept bids from health systems to lease and operate its facilities. University of Colorado Hospital has already voiced its interest in the system, as has Fort Collins, Colo.-based Poudre Valley Health System. University of Colorado Hospital and Poudre Valley are currently exploring a joint operating agreement, which could impact how the systems would be able to partner with Memorial.
Memorial has not yet issued a request for proposals but plans to do so in the next week or two.
Banner Health currently owns or operates four hospitals in Colorado.
