Phoenix-based Banner Health, which has locations in seven states, has been accepted by CMS into the agency's Accountable Care Organization Pioneer Program, according to a Phoenix Business Journal report.
Banner is the first health system accepted into the program, which is intended for advanced organizations that can move quickly from a shared savings model into managing population health.
Banner will have until mid-November to accept CMS' contract for the program, according to the report.
