Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria, Calif., has announced layoffs affecting its certified nursing assistants, according to a Fox Central Coast News report.
The hospital laid off 18 CNAs last week and gave them 30-days notice of the changes. The hospital attributed the layoffs to its move toward "an all registered nurse staff supported by CNAs that have monitor observer and unit clerk capabilities," according to the report.
