Auburn (N.Y.) Community Hospital plans to lay off about 25 employees due to a decline in patient volume, according to a report from The Citizen.
The layoffs will result in the closure of one nursing unit and will also affect employees in nursing, housekeeping, billing, coding and management positions, according to the report.
A hospital spokesperson said patient volume has declined at the 99-bed hospital within the past five months, falling from 85 patients per day to 75. ACH has also lost $1 million in operations from January through June of this year.
