Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Show Low, Ariz., announced the expansion and new name for its Summit Healthcare Oncology Center.
The hospital changed the oncology center's name to Summit Healthcare Cancer Center because the term "cancer" is more recognizable than "oncology," according to the release.
The expansion will add consulting and education rooms and an on-site pharmacy to the cancer center. Preliminary plans call for an additional 10,000 square feet and upgrades to the existing facility.
The project is expected to begin in 2014.
