St. John's Mercy in St. Louis Begins Cardiology Hospitalist Program

St. John's Mercy Heart and Vascular Hospital in St. Louis recently started a cardiology hospitalist program to increase focus on care for hospitalized heart patients, according to a St. Louis Today report.

Patricia Cole, MD, an interventional cardiologist, will lead the hospitalist group, which is designed to improve quality care and standardize the approach to guidelines and management of patient care.

The program also aims to reduce readmissions and decrease unnecessary testing.
