St. John's Mercy Hospital in Missouri to Offer 24-Hour Cath Lab

St. John's Mercy Hospital in Washington, Mo., is extending its catheterization laboratory hours to 24 hours a day starting Sept. 6, according to a Missourian report.

The expanded hours will allow the hospital to transfer heart attack patients directly from the emergency department to the cath lab, shortening the critical door-to-balloon time. When the 24-hour cath lab opens, the hospital will also offer a chest pain evaluation program for patients whose clinical diagnosis for their chest pain is unclear.
